Student Union Leader In Oyo State Tertiary Institution have shown their displeasure over Neglect By Governor in the state owned institution in Oyo State

Six of the seven state owned tertiary institution student union leader in the state namely; Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo, Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, The Oke-ogun Polytechnic, Saki, The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora and Oyo State College of Education of Education, Lanlate have issued a three (3) working day ultimatum to the state Governor to proffer solution to the lingering strike which is now up to a month.

It could be recall that the student have a peaceful protest on 3rd of March, 2021 demanding for reduction in Platinum fee and providing of infrastructural facilities in the institution before Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic of each chapter also joined the strike.

In an E-memo signed by the Student Union Leaders they said "Engr. Seyi Makinde, Oyo State Governor have failed the interest of all student in the state.

"More than five (5) state owned institution have been on strike for almost four (4) weeks ago due to inhumane and unrealistic policy or regulation which is not favourable to the success of any academic environment.

"The present Government has proved to us that they careless about the future of the young ones and the standard of education is getting deteriorated.

" As at now all Oyo state owned institution do not have standard health centre, standard library and the number of lecture room are depreciating daily.

In furthermore, they said "Oyo State Governor has made himself a scary lion to every student leader to the extent that he choose majority of his appointees to be a tiger which you can't have access to.

The Union also decry on why LAUTECH is the only institution which enjoy welfarism from the state government.

" Why do we have increase in education budget and nothing of development could be showcase except LAUTECH your beloved school.

We hereby give a three working days ultimatum to the State Governor who only shown educational support to a tertiary institution out of seven in the state to meet with Staff Union of various institution or expect protest that will disrupt peace in the state as you hearken to our request.
